Our trip to Chicago (in a nutshell).

Upon arriving at O'hare airport, we headed to Battlecreek, MI staight away where Eric's parents have a cottage on Lake Mill. (Little known fact, their house was once owned by the Kellogg family back in the day.) There is a Kellogg cereal museum not to far from their place, but this time it was closed due to the economy. Boo! (I was really sad.) Despite the minor mishap, we managed to have more fun then ever!

We started off with a morning of bubbles with Oma.

We played in the water with daddy.

Then we took their boat out for a spin.

At first, Max wasn't too sure about the life jacket...

then he got used to it, and it didn't even bother him.

On the way back to Illinois, we stopped at Steak n Shake. (the midwest version of In-n-Out, if you will).

The next day, we spent the whole day in the city. Starting off with the Shedd Aquarium...

and finished with the Lincoln Park Zoo.

We met up with friends. Eric's old roommate's son, Nicholas. This is a spitting image of Eric and Eli sitting on their couch a few years ago (just in a miniature version).

We met Oma's horse, Rosie.

Max met lots of cousins.

And finally, a picture with Oma and Papa (or "Bobby" according to Max) and all their grandchildren.

After a busy week of running around and meeting lots of family and friends, Max and Dad crashed out.
