mister felt (potato) man

Last fall my family went to Hawaii for our good friends' wedding. Realizing that the flight would be about 5 hours in the air, I (kinda) started to panic knowing I would have to keep my 11 month old content and quiet...ugh! Fortunately for me (my husband and my child) I had a bunch of felt (since I have a new obsession with it) stashed with my extra fabric I keep lying around. So here it goes...

This is a really easy no-sew project. I made mine (or should I say Max's) the night before we left. I started off by cutting a piece of felt to 8 1/2 x 11. I figured the size of notebook paper was manageable. Then I cut a wonky oval shape. Everything was cut free-hand, so sizes and shapes will vary.
Then I cut features for a basic (potato) man...eyes (I glued the pupil to the white part), nose, ears, and mouth. And some basic accessories...a hat and some shoes. Then I went to town...
I made an old (potato) man
who morphed into a young (potato) jokester...
who became a strapping (potato) cowboy...
then a (potato) woman...
And finally a goofy (potato) clown.
To store, I pile everything onto the piece of background felt, fold and keep in a random shoe bag I had (again) just lying around my house.
It's amazing the things you think of...other options are a baseball player, a snow bunny, a gladiator, etc... You make the call! Hopefully this will keep your little ones occupied for hours. :)
